Safe restart guide

How to reset a Samsung Dryer

A conservative restart procedure that avoids pretending every Samsung dryer uses the same model-specific key sequence.

Important: “Reset” can mean different things by model: cancelling a cycle, clearing a control state, restarting after a fault, or performing a service-mode procedure. This guide covers only a basic power restart unless your exact model manual says otherwise.

Basic restart steps

  1. Record any error code on the display before clearing it.
  2. Stop or cancel the current cycle using the normal controls if the appliance is responding.
  3. Turn the appliance off. If it can be safely disconnected from power, unplug it or switch off the dedicated circuit according to the owner manual.
  4. Wait briefly, then restore power and start a normal cycle.
  5. If the same error returns, do not keep resetting it. Diagnose the cause or use manufacturer support.

Do not use a reset to hide a safety fault

Lint and restricted venting are fire risks. Stop use for overheating, burning smells, or repeated heater errors.

Before trying model-specific button combinations

Find the full model number and use the owner manual or official support page for that exact product. Button sequences found for a different generation can open diagnostic modes or change settings.

Samsung Support is the recommended source for model-specific reset and service information.
