Component context

Appliance parts commonly associated with error codes

Understand what common components do, which symptoms they can be associated with, and where homeowner checks should stop.

Parts are context, not a shopping list: an error code can be caused by wiring, installation, blockages, sensors, controls or model-specific logic. Do not order a part solely because it appears on this page.

Drain pumpWasher / dishwasherDraining faults, standing water, long-drain codesFilters, hoses and external plumbing can often be checked safely; pump replacement usually requires model-specific access.
Water inlet valveWasher / dishwasher / refrigeratorNo-fill, slow-fill or water-supply errorsVerify taps, hoses and filters first. Electrical valve testing/replacement is generally service work.
Thermistor / temperature sensorWasher / dryer / refrigerator / ovenTemperature or heating/cooling sensor faultsSensor location and resistance specifications are model-specific; do not guess values.
Heating elementDishwasher / dryer / ovenNo heat, long cycle, heater codesHigh voltage and hot surfaces make panel-off diagnosis unsuitable for casual DIY.
Door lock / latchWasher / dishwasher / ovenDoor lock, door open, start failuresRemove visible obstructions first; internal latch replacement varies by model.
Fan motorRefrigerator / oven / dryerFan, airflow, cooling or overheating errorsListen/observe from user-accessible areas. Internal fan access may expose electrical or sharp components.
Control boardMost electronic appliancesCommunication, power or control errorsDo not replace a board based on a generic code alone; rule out supply, wiring and model-specific causes.
Pressure / water-level sensorWasher / dishwasherFill, overfill or water-level codesDrain/hose routing can be checked externally; sensor and pressure-system tests are model-specific.

Future affiliate layer

The architecture can later add clearly disclosed replacement-part links, but only after exact model/part-number compatibility is verified. Generic “fits most” part links would undermine the model-specific safety rule.
