Before calling a technician: gather these details

A clear symptom history and exact appliance identity can save diagnostic time.

Write down the exact symptom

  • Exact displayed error code, including alternating screens.
  • What programme/cycle was running.
  • How long after start the issue occurs.
  • Whether the fault is every time or intermittent.
  • Any sound, smell, visible leak/frost or unusual heat.

Record the appliance identity

  • Brand.
  • Full model number.
  • Serial number (share only as needed).
  • Product/service/revision code if present.
  • Approximate purchase/installation date.

Record what changed

  • Recent move or installation.
  • Power outage/surge.
  • Plumbing work or water shutoff.
  • New detergent/product/settings.
  • Previous repair or part replacement.

List only safe checks already performed

Examples: cleaned the user filter, confirmed supply tap is open, checked an external hose for a kink, followed an owner-manual reset. Do not perform internal work just to make the technician visit “easier.”

Prepare access

If practical, clear belongings around the appliance, have proof of purchase/warranty information available, and make sure the technician can reproduce the symptom safely.
